Chantilly, Virginia Location
Mostly located in western Fairfax County, Virginia, the unincorporated community of Chantilly is only about 25-miles from Downtown Washington, DC. While built up over the 19th century, Chantilly grew into one of DC’s outer suburbs as recently as the 1980’s when several neighborhoods went in to what formerly served as farmland. The community gets its name from its sister city in France, allowing for a mix of old traditions and modern conveniences.
Chantilly is still somewhat rural, but also offers residents the closeness of living within a short commute to a large urban area and bustling airport, while also the relaxing exclusiveness of living out in the suburbs, surrounded by large trees and historically significant sites.
