Cherrydale Housing Market

The Cherrydale real estate market is perfect for those looking for a quiet neighborhood with a "small town" feel, yet desiring proximity to jobs and conveniences. Cherrydale's charming neighborhood feel is an appealing characteristic to most potential home buyers in the area, as it provides a tranquil suburban ambiance that you just can't find in many parts of Washington DC. Additionally, residents are never too far away from all the amenities that both downtown Washington DC and downtown Arlington have to offer.

Cherrydale is a community with one of the more convenient locations to call home in the Washington DC area. Both Interstate 66 and Highway 29 make their way through portions of the Cherrydale neighborhood, providing easy access to downtown DC, other parts of Arlington, and any number of suburban communities west of the Potomac. Aside from its two major thoroughfares, there's plenty to love about Cherrydale real estate, and much of that appeal starts with its charming and distinct housing options, which attract a wide range of today's home buyers.

Cherrydale primarily consists of medium- to large-sized single-family homes and townhomes that usually offer between four and six bedrooms, plus more than enough living space for the average home buyer. Buyers may also find restored single-family homes dating back to the 1920's, some new builds, and a few townhouses and condos. The large lot sizes that many Cherrydale homes feature certainly contribute to the desirability.

While much of Arlington is older and well-established, homes for sale in Cherrydale were built between 1940 and 1970, and remodeled homes are sometimes available as well. Buyers looking for affordable condominiums in the area will find Cherrydale condos and a few other attached housing options, most notably along Lee Highway, Quincy Street, and close to Interstate 66.

Local schools include Glebe Elementary School, Swanson Middle School, and Washington-Lee High School.
