Several small, quaint shops are found downtown.

Middleburg is served by the Loudoun County Public School District, and students who live here attend the Banneker Elementary, Blue Ridge Middle, and Loudoun Valley High Schools. Other education options include the Middleburg Community Charter School and two private schools, The Hill School and Foxcroft School.
